Personal Statement

I am a starting goalkeeper for Tophat 19 ECNL in Atlanta, Georgia, the #9 team in the country last season.  In our debut year for ECNL, we competed in the champion's league. As the starting GK,  I also helped my high school team Lovett win a state championship for the first time in 11 years.

I now live in Atlanta, but for 3 years I traveled five hours round trip 3+ times a week to practice with and play against the best players in the country. In January 2015,  I was invited to the 2015 ODP National Training Event for 99 girls in Sanford, FL . While in Alabama, I was the starting goalkeeper for the Alabama ODP team. At Region III camp I was named to the 2014-2015 Region III Player Pool. I earned the Golden Glove award for the Region III tournament two years in a row and helped my team win the championship both times.

I was a freshman and the only goalkeeper for Mountain Brook High School's 6A varsity women's team.  That year,  my high school team finished second in the state despite losing 11 seniors off of last year's team. My teammates voted me Defensive MVP and I was named to the Birmingham News All-Metro team. As an eighth grader, I was the first 8th grader to make the Varsity team in the history of Mountain Brook. I lettered on the varsity team and we won the 6A state championship and we were ranked 15th in the nation.  My height is 5 ft 7.5 inches and I also have a 23" vertical jump.

Challenging academics are really important to me, so I take the most challenging course work, including every available AP course. While at Mountain Brook my class rank was #3 out of 378 (top 1%) with a cumulative 4.39 GPA.  Lovett doesn't track class rank but I have a 100.2 GPA and have maintained A's unweighted in every course.  My goal is to play soccer at a college with challenging academics.

Diversity is also important to me. I am a leader for our school's Diversity council called Teen against Prejudice and I am working to make a difference at my school. I would love to work on this in college also.

I focus on hard work and a constant drive to improve for every task put in front of me, whether it is school, soccer, or my community. I want to be challenged at the highest levels!!! The faculty at my school awarded me with the most Outstanding Sophomore Girl award because I love to work hard and achieve the goals I set for myself. I work on my own, not just in practice, because I want to be the best I can be.   I want to play competitive soccer at a college with strong academics  so I can continue to challenge myself in both soccer and school.
