Alyssa Turner '17 Recruiting Profile

I am a very disciplined and driven person.  I strive to be the best at whatever I am doing.  I train and practice on my own. I have played soccer since I was four years old.  I started playing on a traveling team when I was twelve years old. Although I like all sports, my favorite sports are soccer and volleyball.  However, I have decided to stop playing volleyball in order to focus on improving my soccer skills and accomplishing my goal of playing soccer at the college level for the best school academically and athletically that I can. I want to go to a school where i can be challenged on the field and in the classroom. I primarily play as a center striker, but I can play on the left and in midfield. I can also use both feet while playing.
I am currently a sophomore and I am enrolled in Honors and AP classes. So far this season and with the assistance of my teammates, I have scored 32 goals in all games, one of the games in which I scored three goals did not count toward our season record.  I also have no fewer than ten assists.  For the second straight year I have led my high school team with goal scoring.
During my freshman year, I received the M.V.P. award for the Varsity Volleyball team and led the Varsity Girl's Soccer Team in scoring with twelve goals.  I was also voted the most athletic female in my class.  Immediately following my freshman year, I tried out for and made the G.S.A. '99 ECNL team.  Playing for an ECNL team has greatly improved my skill level, on and off the ball.  The ECNL experience has helped me to make great strides as a sophomore with the Gainesville Varsity Girl's Soccer Team.  
As an 8th grader I made the JV soccer team, but decided to stay and play with the girls I had been playing with as we had won the championship during my 7th grade year.  As a seventh grader, I was voted by the coaches of all the teams in Hall County to be the most valuable player of the tournament.  I made the all county team my 8th grade year but did not qualify for the MVP because my team did not make the finals.
