Personal Statement
I want to play at a school where I can eventually become an impact player and help grow the program as a whole, whether that be with my impact on or off the field. My dream of playing in college would be to fully develop myself as a goalkeeper, a student and as a person to prepare me for what lies ahead. I would really love to go into sports medicine and strength and conditioning coaching once soccer is out of the picture.
I am a huge believer in valuing the process more than the outcome. The experiences I have gotten training in U.S. Soccer National Training Centers and at the regional level for ODP has helped teach me that. I love being in that environment-- surrounded by teammates and opponents. I have learned, or rather, I am in the process of learning, how to take everything one day at a time and not dwell on what the past has given me or what the future may hold.
I am a very hard worker on and off the field. I am a competitive perfectionist, so I am always ready to take on the biggest academic and athletic challenges that stand in my way. On the field and in the gym I always give 110% effort to improve my physical fitness and technical ability. In school, I stay organized and make sure that I give my best work, regardless of how challenging the course is. For example, even though my parents didn't speak a word of the language, I learned how to speak Spanish fluently during elementary school and that knowledge that I have acquired has truly been a great help, although it was very difficult to learn at times.
I am driven. Once I set my mind to something, there is no turning back.
