Personal Statement

My name is Shonali Pierce. I was a three sport athlete freshman and sophomore year; which I particpated in XC, basketball, and soccer. This year as a junior I'm only playing soccer for high school and my travel team. I currently play for Streamwood High School in the Upstate 8 conference, which is one of the most competitive in the state. This upcoming spring will mark my third year as a starter for the varsity team, I received a sportsmanship award which only 9 other girl soccer players in the state got.

Last  year we lost in the regional championship, which I helped us get there with 2 assists that help us win 2-1. That's what I love about soccer. I'm a very selfless player so I love giving other people the opportunity to score and know I helped them with the process. I'm a small player, but my speed is key in my style of play. I get many break away opportunities as well as when my teammates send me long balls. I continue to work and improve my weakest areas and maintain my strongest. I've been playing club soccer since the 5th grade with Kickers United FC out of Elgin, Il . And the past 2 seasons with Fox Valley Strikers, which is one of the best in the state. I play U17 Elite and U17 Premier . Whatever the team needs me to do I am there. When I don't have practice, I do other physical activites such as running, lifting, and boxing to keep myself in shape. Keeping myself in shape is just as important as keeping my grades up. I continue to do my best in every single class and realize school comes first. That is why I continue to get A's and B's each year. I feel I will be good for your program because of my ability to play at a high level. I'm a coachable player who can play multiple positions. Thank you for your time and consideration .

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
