Personal Statement
My name is Grace Bammer. I’m a 6’ tall junior and weigh about 145 pounds. I play center back. I’ve had a passion for soccer for as long I can remember. At age three, I began playing soccer on a county league and finally began my travel career when I was nine. I played soccer for my middle school team and SWISA Soccer Club. Today, I play varsity level soccer for Gibson Southern High School and play at the elite level for Sporting SI. I am a three year captain for my cub team.
Throughout my thirteen years of play, I have been told by several coaches some of my greatest strengths as a player is my natural athleticism and my ability to be coached. I have great speed and understanding of the game which has made me the athlete I am both mentally and physically. Because I cannot stand to lose, I push myself to be the best I can possibly be. I would bring maturity, mental toughness, a drive to win, aggression, commitment, adaptability, and most importantly, heart to any soccer program. Soccer isn’t just a sport to me anymore; it’s my life. Everything in my life revolves around soccer and I truly have a love for everything about the sport.
I’ve received several awards throughout my soccer career including the mental attitude award and all-conference both my freshman, sophomore and junior years. I was named to the 1st team All-District 6 as a junior. I was one of 14 girls chosen to represent southern Indiana in an all-star game in Indianapolis all three years as well. I have won several tournaments with my travel team and have placed in State Cup every year.
I try to be involved in as many extra-curricular activities as I can. I’m a member of the Anti-Bullying Club, Beta Club, Pep Club, Sunshine Society, and also work in Yearbook. I am enrolled in honors courses and plan on graduating with an Academic Honors Diploma. I also play varsity basketball in the winter to stay in shape for travel soccer in the spring. During the summer I help out with a “Mini-Kicker Camp” which is a week long soccer camp held by the soccer program every year to raise awareness and build a strong soccer program for the upcoming years.
I would consider playing soccer anywhere. I’m open to all opportunities giving me a chance to extend my soccer career past high school.
Note: I have recently changed club teams thus causing my number to change as well. I will be number 1 on any new film to be posted and number 3 for my cub team.
