My name is Josie Pearl Griffin and I am 17 years old. At 5'3" and only 110 pounds, I'm not exactly big. But what I lack in stature, I make up with heart. I currently reside in Slidell, Louisiana. I have been playing soccer since the age of seven. I played coed between the ages of seven to twelve in Virginia, and have 4 years of experience on my current club team, the SYSC Cyclones. As a defensive centerback, I'm an extremely physical player and slide tackles are my specialty. I often make runs into the attack as well. I have experience as an outside back, as well as striker.
My love for soccer has propelled me to take whatever measures needed to achieve my goal of playing for a College Women's Soccer team. Ideally, along with playing at a highly competitive level, I also wish to learn at a high academic level. I am open to any division of play (NAIA included) as long as it provides me with the education I need.
I would prefer studying Environmental Science or Biology (Wildlife Biology or Marine Biology). I am also open to majoring in any Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Criminal Psychology courses, given said school has an impressive program for those majors.
Although perfection is nearly unattainable, I strive to achieve excellency every time I step on the field; and that is something that I believe sets me apart from others. I am a vocal leader and a captain for my high school soccer team, but I am also a loyal follower and teammate, taking direction when necessary. I hope to be a desirable candidate for any college that is looking to contact me. Thank you for your time and consideration!
