I started playing recreation soccer when I was 5 years old. I played 6 years for the South Hadley Recreation League. When I reached 7th and 8th grade there was a private team called the Ligers in South Hadley which was coached by Beth Craven and Jane Gawron. Coach Craven also coached a Maple team which I was able to practice with a few times. While with the Ligers I was able to travel twice to Cape Cod and play in the Harvest Cup. This was great because we were able to play teams from as far away as Canada. We also played tournaments at the Gateway High School each year.
Once I started at South Hadley High School Coach Mike Gauthier chose me to play a starting position on defense my freshman and sophomore year for the Varsity team. Now in my junior year we have a new coach, Eric Wood. Coach Wood also chose to start me as Center defender on the Varsity team this year.
The summer after freshman and sophomore years I played for the JBO Celtic Soccer Club. This was a great experience for me as I was able to play with other soccer players from around my area.
If I could I would play soccer for the rest of my life and I thrive in a team environment.
Someday I would like to be a detective or a crime scene investigator.
