My name is Angelica Alicea, I am currently a Senior at Tuscarora High School in Frederick, Maryland. I have a 3.73 GPA and have been on the honor roll every year since middle school. As a sophomore I scored a 1020 out of 1600 on my SAT. Throughout my three years as a Tuscarora Titan student I was most impressed by my school’s Sports Medicine class. As one of the few sophomores to take the class, I was most definitely challenged. But challenging myself in the class is ultimately what made me fall in love with it all the more. Learning how to tape up my classmates among all the other tasks clued me into what I wanted to further myself in my future studies. I have got my mind and heart set on studying physical therapy/athletic trainer. During my many years playing soccer I have had my fair number of injuries which gives me an inside appreciation to this profession. My experience during my AP Psychology class has led me into wanting to branch off from physical therapy as my major into a minor in sports psychology as well.
I have played soccer since I was eight years old, three years on a rec team and then 8 years playing club soccer. I currently play for Maryland Rush Montgomery Venom Club during the spring, fall and winter seasons. My club team won the Division 3 of the Washington Area Girls Soccer League Championship and won the 2014 Maryland Presidents Cup and made to the quarter finals of the Regional Cup. Playing in representation of my State was the most proud moment as a player, and it brought us closer as a team, I am looking forward to what we can accomplish this year.
