Personal Statement
I began playing soccer when I was seven years old. I fell in love with the sport and have been playing ever since. I am a highly motivated person, always striving to do my best in not only soccer but school as well. Academically, I am currently ranked number one in my class. Keeping my grades up along with a rigorous soccer schedule has helped me to learn how to manage my time efficiently. I am very grateful for all of the opportunities soccer has provided for me in the form of being able to travel, meet new people, and learn new leadership skills and self-discipline. I also love being part of a team. I am a versatile player. While my primary position is attacking center mid, I also play defending center mid, center back and occasionally forward. While attacking center mid is my preferred position, I always give my best to help my team in whatever position I play. Some recent accomplishments for me regarding soccer are being captain of my team as we won the state championship for the second year in a row, being selected for the Michigan ODP '98 Girls State Team and making the All Star Team at Super Y ODP National Camp last year. I was invited to Super Y National Camp again this year and am looking forward to attending. In addition to playing soccer, I also enjoy drawing, painting, and photography. I am currently planning to pursue a bachelor's degree in art and psychology as preparation for a graduate program in art therapy.
