Personal Statement
Hi! As you can see, I'm Kelly McCormack from Jackson, MI. I'm a dedicated student athlete with an unweighted 4.0 GPA and a spot as starting goalkeeper on Jackson MI Rush 99 Girls and soon to be boys as well. I also earned a spot on varsity for both my high school team freshman and sophomore year. For spring of my junior year, I decided it would be beneficial for many reasons to play with a clubs boy team instead of my school team. Although soccer is a major part of my life, school is too. I aspire to study bio-medical engineering while satisfying pre-med requirements so that I can take the MCAT, and pursue a career with my M.D.
With high hopes comes an even higher work ethic shown through sports and school. I attend many extra goalkeeping sessions (including ones with Paul Gilbert of Michigan State U) when time allows, but I also keep time for studying. I'm definitely a perfectionist who likes to analyze her mistakes to become better. My analysis skills come in handy, especially on the field. I never mind directing my team whether it be positive feedback, recognition of an error, motivational words, or simple directions (slide left, drop & squeeze, switch it). If you come see me playing, I'll be the loudest on the field. Since I have a nice view of the field, I believe that communication with my teammates is necessary to teamwork. It's a job of the keeper that not many people recognize.
I love new experiences, and I hope you do too because I would love for you to come experience one of my team's games in order to see me in action. However if distance is an obstacle, then I have a quick skill video up, and a video of game play.
