Personal Statement
My name is Olga Oliver. I am a 20 year old student attending Minneapolis Community and Technical College. In 2017 I attended North Iowa Area Community College. While there, I participated in NJCAA D1 soccer.
I began playing varsity soccer in seventh grade and continued on through my senior year. At age fifteen I played U17 and at age 16 I played U17 boys - I am a tough competitor! I was captain of the varsity team during my senior year. The awards I recieved include, Strongest Defense, Strongest Attack, All-Confence and recieved the 6th place All-State award for the midfield position. I also played 4 season's of club soccer through Minneapolis United, C1 and C2. I participated in the 2016 Schwan's USA Cup and our team came in first place. During the summer or 2017, I played MYSA club soccer at the C2 level and our team won the state championship.
My desire is to play competetive soccer at the college level. I have been playing soccer for many years and continue to improve my soccer skills and physical fitness each season. Some of the attributes I can bring to your team are leadership qualities, hard work, strength, speed, and dedication as a team player. I also have a good understanding of the game and am able to make quick decisions under pressure. I bring the technical skills of passing, dribbling, and excellent footwork . I am able to read the field very well. I can adapt to other teammates playing style. I am coachable and committed to improving my game. I'm a very positive, encouraging, and most importantly a good sport on and off the field. When facing adversity I never give up but continue to persevere. The above qualities are very important as a teammate, because it helps others to be motivated to continue to work hard for the team.
As much as I love the game of soccer, I am committed to my studies. Upon the completion of my generals, I would like to explore employment is the area of business or nursing. I feel the above character qualities, athletic skill and desire to pursue a career, make me stand out from others as a student and athlete.
