Personal Statement
One of the greatest influences in my life is my older brother Jordan. Jordan has Down Syndrome and he has greatly impacted my life and my decisions. He is one of the main reasons why I try to succeed to the best of my abilities in all areas of my life, including soccer. He has taught me to have a strong work ethic, a high level of patience, and a respect for others. I have grown up watching and learning from him as he has overcome so many challenges. I have used many of these learning experiences in all areas of my life by setting high goals for myself and working diligently to achieve these goals. In addition to the successes that I have had on the soccer field, I have attained high grades academically, achieved a black belt in Karate, and spent time volunteering to help others.
I have been blessed with many opportunities not only to grow as a soccer player, but as a person, throughout my soccer career. Winning the 2016 U15 State Tournament was one of the biggest highlights for me, because my team was able to persevere through some difficult situations and grow as a team as well as individuals. I have learned a lot and been able to better my play through a variety of different coaching from High School, Club, College ID camps, and ODP. Soccer has been a part of my life since I was very young and I plan to continue to better my knowledge and skills of the game. Soccer has helped instill great qualities such as leadership, commitment, and overall determination in me. I have been fortunate to have had many coaches that have taught me to never feel a sense of complacency, and to always look for areas of improvement as a player and a person.
