Personal Statement
Being the daughter of a college coach has helped me learn the hard work and dedication required to be apart of college athletics. My dad had coached both D1 and D2 golf. At the D2 level, he was the head coach at Concordia University in Saint Paul for both Men and Women. At the D1 level, he currently is the head women's coach at the University of Montana. Having grown up with a coach for a dad, I have learned what is expected of college athletes, and what a commitment it is to be one. I started playing soccer at the age of six and have loved it everyday since. I started my soccer career in a recreational league until age twelve or thirteen when I then moved to a traveling league. Through the years I have accomplished many things. In my sophomore year alone, I have accomplished getting all conference honorable mention, making the MN ODP team for my age group, landing a spot on a high level premier team and other various achievements. I have always wanted to play college soccer. To achieve that goal I have been working very hard on and off the field. I train and work out year round so that I can develop my game to its highest potential.
I not only want to aspire and succeed on the field, but in the classroom as well. I am a strong student placing with a cumulative 3.4 G.P.A. I am currently taking several college courses, AP classes, and honors classes to challenge myself as well as prepare myself for the future.
Failure is not an option for me, so no matter what I am doing I put in a much effort as I can to make sure that I am attributing to the team the best that I possibly can. For me soccer isn't just a game, it is a part of who I am. I am willing to do whatever it may take, whenever I need to, so that I can strive and one day reach my goal. I would make a great addition to any team and school due to the fact that I will work hard, never give up and I will commit myself to excellence.
