Personal Statement
I am a small town kid who has been lucky enough to grow up in a place that introduced me to soccer. I have played many sports competetively, but soccer is my love. When I started I split time between field play and goalie. The last couple of years, I played primarily goalie; however, I didn't get any realy goalie training until I made the Montana ODP team in 2016. Statistically I've had several games with double digit saves, including a game-high 19 saves, but have been frustrated with lack of field support and goalie specific training. Fast forward to my senior year, and I have decided to transition back to field play. I have found my spot at outside defensive back. I think I am a good candidate to play at the next level because I am fast and selfless. I am very good at reading offenses and anticipating what opposing players will do. I can stay with the fastest attackers, but can turn the ball and start an attack from the backfield.
I want to have a career where I can help people to recover from, and to avoid injuries. I would ultimately like to study athletic training, physical therapy or occupational therapy. I would also like to consider coaching at some level. Academically, I have been academic all-state, and have won the Billy Michael Student Leadership Award in 2017. I look forward to discussing how I can contribute to your team and what your school offers me academically to reach my goals. Thank you for your consideration.
