When I started playing soccer at age 7, I enjoyed learning, meeting new friends and understanding basic soccer skills. By age ten I knew that I loved the competitiveness of soccer and the camaraderie with my teammates and coaches. I played on the same soccer team with the same girls from ages 7-14 and really enjoyed growing our team skill and focusing on individual skills that made us play better in the games. As I moved into middle school playing both club and school soccer, I quickly learned that school soccer was very different and that posed a challenge for me. It was challenging for me because it wasn't as competitive. I learned that my talents in soccer would have to be used differently to help the team the way we needed it. And putting the team first helped me to grow as an athlete and a person. What continued to come up, no matter the circumstances was that I knew that I wanted to play soccer at the highest level possible. I started to look for more ways to develop my skills with extra practices, private lessons, and strength and conditioning training. Together my club team and I have had many accomplishments, the one that really stands out to me is playing in the U.S Soccer National Cup in 2019. I look forward to continuing on this soccer journey in to high school and beyond and know that I will continue to work hard to achieve my goals.
