Personal Statement
I am a Senior at Morristown High School, Morristown, New Jersey. I have been playing club soccer since age 8. I have been a starter for both my club and high school teams. My primary position is Defense; playing Center and Outside Back and Midfield when needed. I am a versatile player and good with both feet. I am quick to the ball, I have acceleration, speed and strong 1 v 1 skills.
I play with a great deal of determination, commitment, passion and self-confidence for the game. I am very vocal on the field, providing communication to my teammates to maintain a strong defensive strategy. I was named Defensive Coordinator for my high school team. I got a lot of personal satisfaction leading our flat-back four. Playing Defense gives me the ability to see the field well - to anticipate player positions, strategically play passes and shots and assist in scoring goals. I continually work on improving my technical skills and I read the game very well.
I am a very hard-working and dedicated student-athlete with a challenging course curriculum. As a Senior I am taking 4 AP Classes (European History, English Literature, Statistical Analysis, and Psychology). Academically, I have done well in my Freshman, Sophomore and Junior years. I carried 4 Honors Classes as a Freshman and Sophomore (Science, Math, History and English) and maintained a very high GPA. In my Junior Year I completed AP English, AP History - Biology Honors, Pre-Calculus Honors. I am doing well balancing a playing schedule and meeting course requirements for each class. Additionally, I am involved in two clubs at school. I am a Mentor in Big Brothers and Big Sisters, have been involved in raising money for Breast Cancer Awareness and Research at the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Morristown Memorial Hospital and have volunteered at Care One Assisted Living working with the seniors in social activities.
I am very easy to coach and motivated to improving my game. I would like to play on a team which is driven, dedicated and results-oriented to make it an outstanding collegiate playing experience.
