Personal Statement
My collegiate goals are to attend a top four year college pursuing a degree in either English or History; so I can become a elementary level teacher. I plan on being an active participant in campus activities and would like to continue goalkeeping for a soccer program that allows me to be involved with life on campus and that leads me on a path of being a great leader and an influential athlete to those younger.
I have been active in the athletic community of the small town of Cooperstown; playing three sports and some summers adding a fourth. I am a soccer and basketball player and also a track runner. As an active player on the school's soccer and basketball player, I have learned to be a better leader, be more competitive, and have really learned what the term 'team' means. It is not just working alone but working as a whole, working alongside others and becoming one family. As a track runner I have learned to become a strong independent person, I have learned to focus on myself and really figure out who I am as not just an athlete but a person in general. I have learned that even with hard work you could fail, but that only pushes me farther.
I have no specific requirements for a college, it could be big or small, in a small town or a large city. I want to go to a school that fits who I am and that has a level of competition that is competitive and that will help me sharpen my skills as an athlete. My goals as an athlete in college are to play as a freshmen and to be competitive, most importantly enjoy the sport.
