Personal Statement
Making the Varsity team as a freshman being one of the youngest on the team, is one of the highlights
of my soccer career. Due to playing this level at a younger age it taught me I can demonstrate my skills
and abilities no matter who the competition is. Some of my obstacles from being one of the younger
players on the team taught me that size does not matter. It taught me all that matters are my skills, and
that I was able to compete at the same level as my teammates even though I am younger.
I have been playing soccer since preschool. I have wanted to become more educated and smarter in my
game. My game has grown so much since becoming a certified referee. Now, I am in the process of
becoming soccer trainer. I have learned so much more about the game and the tactics of how the game
works more in-depth. I have learned many different things, from how to help my teammates be better
players, to learning the rules and knowing how to balance between playing fair and physical while not
drawing a foul.
I am a leader on the field. I am always looking for area that I can improve and can help my teammates
improve. I am also very patient and realize I will not learn a new skill the first time I try it. This does not
mean I stop trying and give up. I will keep working hard. I must keep working hard in school and on the
soccer field. I truly believe I have what it takes to play at the next level. I believe I can play at the
college level.
