Personal Statement
My name is Addison MacDonald and I am in the class of 2024. I play club soccer in a nationally recognized club and I am also a starter on my varsity high school soccer team. I have been to several competitive ECNL showcases, as well as the ECNL playoffs where my team successfully made it to the final four. I have a 4.0 GPA and am taking honors and AP classes along with being enrolled in a 3 year science research program where I will choose a topic of study and present it by the end of my senior year. I may not be a captain (at least not yet anyway), but I believe I am a leader on the field because of the consistent effort and hard work I put forth in the classroom as well as the pitch. As a leader, I recognize the importance of being accountable for my actions and accepting and learning from my mistakes. My commitment to managing a demanding academic curriculum with an equally demanding club soccer schedule (which requires extensive 3 hour travel) has developed my time management skills and helped me understand what it takes to be a student athlete. I believe in the importance of challenging myself and pushing beyond my comfort zone to not only grow and develop in my athletics, but also my just as important academics. My aspiration is to have a collegiate experience that continues to challenge me to grow, has a strong academic program, motivates me to want more, and most importantly, a place to competitively play the sport I have loved for so many years.
