I have been playing soccer since I was four years old. My love for the game started during my seven years of playing for my local club in Sampson County. I now play on a travel team for the Wilmington Hammerheads on their 2005 ECNL (Elite Club National League) Girls team. This team and club have pushed me to not only become a better player but a better person. Throughout my many years of playing soccer, I have participated in ODP (Olympic Development Program). In 2018, I made the Region III ODP Regional Team and Region Pool as well as making the ODP Region III Team and ODP Region Pool again in 2019. This gave me the opportunity to travel to Florida twice to play in interregional and national events. In high school soccer, my sophomore year, I was selected for all-county, all-conference, and all-region for NCHSAA 2A women's soccer. Although I have played many positions such as striker, attacking mid, left-back, and wing I have found my greatest strength at defensive midfield and center back.
Time management may be a struggle for younger athletes but so far I have succeeded in balancing my studies and extracurricular activities. In school, I am an active member of DECA, Key Club, and National Honors Society where I volunteer and help others around Clinton, North Carolina. I also am a member of the Grove Park Baptist youth where I have recently helped with different mission projects and have been on mission trips. Making the change from middle school to high school was difficult but I still maintain straight A’s and have my main focus on school and my GPA.
Out of high school, I hope to attend a four-year university and major in Sports Medicine in hopes of becoming a physical therapist while playing collegiate soccer. My love for the game and other extracurricular activities has allowed me to want to help people whether they are injured or need assistance. I would not be where I am today if it were not for my parents, coaches, and teammates continuously pushing me to become a better player. They have definitely been some of the most influential people in my life who have pointed me in the right direction of where I need to be.
