Personal Statement
My name is Jennifer Paolino,I am fifteen years old and attend New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn,New York. Soccer is my favorite sport, and I have been playing since I was nine years old. In junior high I played on the school team and was the leading goal scorer. I started my freshman year in high school as a starter on the varsity team. I played as right forward, and scored thirteen goals during the season. I was the second leading goal scorer on my team. That year my team made it to playoffs, however lost in the quarter finals. I came back my sophmore year determined to go farther in playoffs, and thats excatly what my team and I did. We made it to the championship game verse Newcomers High School.We beat them 2-1, and I assited one goal. My sophmore year I scored fifteen goals during the season, and four goals during playoffs. This year my teammates nominated me and two other girls as captin, I hope to win the vote,and be captin for my junior and senoir year. I play on two other outside league, one of them indoors. I am captin for my indoor league. I have great leadership abilities and always bring the best out of all my players. During the game I encourage my team to work hard, and remind them what we are playing for. My mom always told me school comes first then soccer,so I knew in order to play soccer I must have good grades. All through out my life I have been in the honers program. In 8th grade I was allowed to take some high school exams early so I did, and got the credit for them. After high school I plan on attending college. In college I hope to continue playing soccer. Some school's I am intrested in are Rutgers University,Saint John's University,NYU,and much more. I would like to go to college on the east coast, but any good college that would offer me a sholarship I would accept. I would like to take athletic training, Sports Med., broadcast journalism, or phyical therapy as my major. (I haven't choose yet) Some goals in my life are to attend a good college and play soccer. I believe I am good but would like to improve on some area's in my training. My dream has always been to play for the womens perfessional team and I am determined to make that dream happen by working hard.
