Mixing my education and sports is my collegiate and professional goal. I plan to major in exercise science with the goal of working with athletes whether in PT or as a trainer or perhaps sports medicine in some form. What makes me a good candidate for a college team and sets me apart is two things: Most of my coaches have always expressed to me how much they appreciated and valued my leadership, skill, accountability, and determination on the field (became captain often). While playing sweeper, I've been relied on to tell other defenders and middies where to be to make it all work--and last season in that role we were winners and went to Sectionals with many shutouts. If I were to be part of your team, I would bring these attributes and my skill to every practice and especially every game. I'd bring it to my college and plan to keep it going.
When I began martial arts at age 7 and continued through to earning my blackbelt (youngest female to do that in our dojo and after a 4-hour test with 22 consecutive 2-minute sparring matches), the training and the test taught me the importance of discipline and commitment not just to karate but also to my shihan, school, sports teams, and academics.
We all know sports is both mental and physical. I give it my all in both categories. Please view my video.
