Personal Statement
I am Leaya Armstead. I plan to major in Athletic Training. I am looking for a Program that values academics and focuses on students being successful in the classroom. My goal is to be a part of a college program that will allow me to fulfill my goals as a student and an athlete.
I play Forward primarily, but I also play Midfield and Defense. My strengths are my athleticism, speed, versatility and my ability to change the game. I am very coachable. I was named Impact Player of the Year because I exhibit my strengths on the field whenever I play. I am a team player and think it is just as important to setup opportunities for my team members as scoring myself. Also, when called upon I play defense to shut down opponents.
I possess the soccer instinct you can't teach. I am a dominant attacker, will battle head-to-head and am vocal on the field. When the game gets tough, it fuels my intensity and makes me play harder.
I started club soccer later than probably most others who are college recruits but I possess the talent to contribute to the success of a soccer program. I train all winter. I am currently working with a personal coach who played professional soccer because I am committed to enhancing my skills and knowledge. I love the game and truly desire to play at the collegiate level.
This spring I will be playing in Showcases and Tournaments with Club Ohio and Wilmington Soccer Club.
Thanks
Leaya Armstead
