Personal Statement
As an 8th grader my college goals may change but I do have a very strong interest in child psychology, especially in a the area of autism and obsessive compulsive behavior disorders. I would like to find a college that would allow me to pursue this area of interest while playing top level soccer.
The characteristics that set me apart from other soccer players include the following.
1. I am coachable and have had many coaches for many sports. I think this allows me to learn from a variety of people with very different coaching styles.
2. I am a team player. I am a twin. My brother and I grew up sharing and supporting each other.
3. I am very athletic, tall, strong, have very good endurance, and am very fast. I currently hold the record in the 400 meter for middle school runners in the United States (please see atletic.net for results). I hope to maintain this record this coming spring as an 8th grader.
4. I feel as though I can improve a great deal. Unlike many of my peers, I feel as though I am just beginning to really hone my soccer skills and that there is a great deal of growth ahead of me.
5. I am self motivated and a hard worker.
Academically, I am a solid student and have been home schooled during most of my middle school years. I have maintained a 4.0 average and am looking forward to entering high school next year. I have been accepted and will be attending a very challenging private school next fall, Cascades Academy (CACO). All of CACO’s classes are “honor level” classes and should prepare me very well for any college I attend.
