Personal Statement
Soccer has always been a significant part of my life. I started playing two seasons a year of Rec when I was five, then began year-round club when I was ten. Once I joined club I realized my skill and passion for the game. I knew I wanted it to be a part of my future and playing soccer would definitely be a big factor in my collegiate plans and aspirations.
In addition to club and Highschool, I participate in separate soccer clinics and sports (tennis). Among the clinics I have been invited to have been with Rachael Rapinoe and Shannon Boxx. Training with them has had a huge impact on the player I am and how I see the game. As a forward, specifically left wing, I was able to strengthen my ability in that position. For example speed, gaining speed when I’m tired and off the ball. Technical skills was a big focus as well, mainly making a point that the little details have a huge impact/effect. How to take advantage of my strong left foot, even though my dominate is right. Lastly, how to be a play maker and set up plays, I feel is one of my biggest strengths as a player.
As an athlete, I make it a point to show my hardworking spirit and love for the game. Being my team's previous and current captain, I am able to demonstrate that along with my leadership skills. I play a key role on my team and I take a lot responsibility with it. I make sure to bring a fun and positive attitude, however I also know when to flip the switch and get things done.
In terms of Highschool and Highschool soccer, it’s crazy how eventful it’s been in just two years. As a freshmen I got onto a state varsity team where we placed third in State in 2018, and second in State in 2019. As for school itself, I work really hard for good grades. I’ve been an honor roll student my entire life, and keep a high GPA. I take a lot of pride in my achievements and try to translate my strong work ethic into both academics and athletics.
