I first started playing soccer when I was four years old. I love soccer because it is a passion. I enjoy playing at a higher level in my club because the speed of play is so much quicker, and playing at a higher level can only make me better. I play by making quick runs off the ball and opening up the field by moving into open space. For the past three years, I have been part of my high school girls soccer team at NPA and have won state in our division all three years. Due to COVID, a lot of good opportunities were no longer available for my club team. I trained almost everyday on my own until our team could practice together again. Both of my parents were college athletes. My dad played basketball, and eventually went on to coach at NAU, while my mom ran cross country and track and field. Track and field is also a big part of my life. I have run track at my high school for the past three years as well, yet our season was cut short last year because of COVID. My freshmen year, I got 2nd, 3rd, 6th, and 8th in state for my division and my Junior year I won all 4 events I competed in at state. I went to Basis Flagstaff from 5th through 8th grade which challenged me to balance my homework, schoolwork, soccer, and track. I continue to carry those skills into high school and hopefully into college. My family recently moved to Bend, OR where I play for the Bend High School soccer team and play for the Bend Apex FC soccer club. While playing soccer would be a great bonus to my college experience, my education is what is going to lead me to be successful in life. I was just invited to the National Honors Society this year, meaning I have maintained a GPA of at least 3.75 for the past two years. I am now a senior and am focusing more on my future where I would love to play college soccer.
