I have been playing soccer since I was four years old, and have been in love with the game ever since. I love everything there is to soccer, from the long sore work outs, to the pasta parties with the team, to getting to play on the field in front of fans who cheer you on. People watch soccer and see the team that meshes or the team that wins all their games. They don't see the workouts, the countless hours of icing and training, the number of shots you took on the net, or the determination it took to refine the skills you have. To me that is the most important part of soccer; the behind the scene action. The teammates encouraging each other to finish that last sprint or the way a coach will yell at you 100 times until you get it right. Those who are champions did not get there without hard work, sweat, and the will power to pursue their dreams. This is what I hope to bring to the table. I genuinely care about all members of a team, whether I'm best friends with them or not. A team is a team, you don't have to be best friends, but on that field, compatibility and communication make it all happen. That said, I'm not just someone with social skills. I have refined my skills, and I intend to further my knowledge day in and day out, always striving for greatness. I have been through different soccer camps, and several different teams through the years, and each one has taught me something new about the game. I have played varsity on my schools soccer team since my freshman year and will be captain of the team going into my senor year. I was one of the top scorers my Sophomore year, and I play forward as well as center and outside midfield. Soccer is my passion and I love it. Even with being devoted to soccer, my academics have not suffered, I always put my school work first. Sometimes that means less practice for the day, or skipping a work out. But if my grades aren't good I can't play, so missing one work out is better than a whole season. I have held a 4.0 GPA for all of high school, and I am a member of both the National Honors Society of High School Scholars and the National Honors Society. I have not only strived for greatness on the field, but off of it too, I have taken several honors courses, and I have added AP courses to my curriculum as well. I always want to reach the next level in anything I do and my competitive edge along with my self-discipline help me to improve my soccer skills, and to perform at my best in the classroom. I am looking to be able to show my proficiency in both areas in college. I would like to major in Commercial Design and get a minor in business or marketing as well. I am very experienced in the field of graphic arts and design. I have done a few internships, and I have done many odd end volunteer jobs in this field as well. I am prepared to devote my time to both academics and athletics in college and would be grateful for the opportunity to do so.
