Personal Statement
My goal is to play soccer in college. Not just play, but to impact a team. Soccer has been my passion for as long as I can remember. On the field I am a smart player who is technical on the ball, intelligent off the ball, and physical against my opponents. I am known for my powerful strike and diverse finishing techniques as a forward. I am always hungry to learn more and am very coachable. Aside from club team training, I spend an additional 10-15 hours per week with a private trainer to hone my skills as a forward. My work ethic is unwavering and I am always willing to give 110% on both good days and challenging days. Something that I have taught myself is that even if I have a bad training session, or my touch is off on a certain day, I still have to keep working hard physically and stay strong mentally because those are the days that I am going to learn the most. I have discovered so much about myself through the game of soccer like how hard I can be pushed, how to work through obstacles, and how to keep on believing in myself even when I think my limit has been reached. Every moment that I am on a soccer field is not supposed to be easy, and today I welcome the challenge and opportunity to be better.
My commitment to excelling in this sport is matched by my desire to achieve academic excellence. I am determined, ambitious and committed to being an outstanding student and have very high academic goals set for myself. I use the competitiveness I have gained from soccer in the classroom by pushing myself to do my best, studying diligently, and staying adaptable in the face of new demands and environments. I want to find a college that is competitive athletically as well as academically and will challenge me on and off the field to prepare me for great success in the future.
