Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Madison Guthrie and I am 17 years old. I play for the Varsity Girls Soccer Team at Lugoff-Elgin High School. I am their starter goalie. I have worked hard for 5 years to become the goalkeeper i am today. I first started my goalkeeper career when I was 12. I was on the Plex Indoor Soccer Team and our goalie was hurt so they needed someone to go in, and that's when i stepped up. As soon as I got in the goal, I knew this is where I was supposed to be. I am very passionate about soccer and the position I play. I never want to be on the bench because I want to show the coach what I can do and prove to them that I deserve to be on the field. I take practices seriously, as if they were a game because I know I won't do well in a game if I don't practice my hardest at practice.
My main goal is to be a goalkeeper for my college soccer team and hopefully go into professional soccer after that. I make a good candidate for your team because you can always count on me to give 110% into everything I do (practice, games, scrimmages). I train as much as I can so I can become a better goalie and I never give up. If someone scores on me, I get right back up and forget about it and keep on going. I will not let one mistake keep me from doing my best. Even with all of my soccer going on, I still keep my grades up and make mostly all A's. I am willing to help anyone on the team practice with their position, even if they want to do it outside of practice. My team always comes first.
