I have been playing soccer since age 4, as I got older I realized soccer was the sport that I wanted to play at the next level. I have learned and developed as a player from many coaches and have participated in programs such as ODP. I have had the great benefit and privilege of learning from and playing for my high school coach Sidney Zanin who played professional soccer. As a 7th grader I was on the high school junior varsity team and started playing on the varsity team my 8th grade year. My sophomore year I was starting on the varsity team. I have also played basketball and participated in track. I broke our middle school high jump record as an 8th grader with a height of 5’1 and placed 8th in high jump as a freshman at the Howard Wood track meet. I also received a Silver P as a sophomore, this is awarded to three sport varsity athletes. While playing soccer I have learned how to create long lasting friendships, how to never give up and how to appreciate the meaning of team. My 8th grade year of school I got very sick and doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong, it took until the end of my freshman year of school for doctors to finally diagnose my condition. That time in my life taught me perseverance in all aspects of my life including sports and has made me a stronger person. Academically I want to pursue a pre-med major with a focus in the field of Dermatology.
