Personal Statement

I have many collegiate goals and aspirations that I am looking forward to after my high school career. My first goal is to get into a college on a scholarship, with great academics, an advanced soccer program, and an exceptional medical program. Secondly, I want to make a difference at the college I attend, by excelling in academics, and improving as an athlete. My last goal is to graduate at the top of my class with honors. I am a good candidate for any team that excepts me because I never give up, when I can't do something I keep practicing until I can. I work hard and always try to have a positive attitude, because your attitude is part of how much success you will have. It is also important to have good sportsmanship because it shows others the kind of person you are on and off of the soccer field. Lastly, I am a coachable person with dedication and can improve over time. I am different from other recruits for many reasons. Most of the time when athletes are put in difficult situations or intense pressure they fail or give up. However, when I am put in these situations I actually become more driven and determined to come out with success. Also, I believe it takes a team to have success and win. No one can do it alone. It's important to have pride and build your teammates up. From my experience of playing soccer I have never scored a goal without receiving a pass from a teammate. I work hard individually for I know you can't rely on your team to do the work for you. It's important to give your absolute 100% all of the time because the only person it will hurt is yourself. Another reason I am different from other recruiters because I don't only believe in doing well in your sport, but having respect for it. It's important to have respect for your coaches, the refs, your teammates and the opposite team when playing a game. When you are disrespectful it hurts your integrity and the reputation for the school or organization you are playing for. I stand out athletically because I don't only have strength and speed, but I also am very flexible. I am fit enough that I  have the endurance to last and be capable of playing a full game. Lastly, I am unique from any other recruits because I know how to have the balance between sports and academics. Many people believe you can only be successful in one or the other, but they are wrong. It takes commitment and hard work, but it is possible. I have and always will work hard for my education because it will help me go far in life.  Once I set my mind to something and plan on being successful there is nothing or no one that can stop me from doing so. I will always work hard at what I do because its what I love and it's worth working hard for.
