For as long as I can remember, I have played organized sports. Having an older sister who is a strong athlete meant that, as a child, I often found myself playing alongside her on teams one or two years above my own age group, which made me a stronger athlete. I have participated in soccer, softball, basketball, cross country, and was also a state finalist in Track & Field (Mile Relay)- I enjoyed them all, but over the years, soccer won out over all the sports and became my primary athletic focus.
My strength on and off the soccer field is my desire and ability to be a problem solver. I am a versatile player and move from center or outside back, to left or right-side wing without hesitation. Though I may have a favorite position, I usually don't express a preference because I dedicate myself to playing and contributing where my team (and coach) needs me most. I like to be the player my coach looks to when my team is in trouble and needs a breakthrough play or just a morale boost. I usually play different positions on my club vs high school team, which has made me a smarter player and a better leader. As a Senior, I look to pass on my "Team First" approach to the younger players. My team sometime teases me by calling me the "Team Mom" and that is okay with me because, as Captain of my team, I think it is my responsibility to lead by example and to always be there for my teammates.
On the pitch, I take pride in my vision of the field and always strive to be a smart and generous player who looks for the connection up the field and to the goal. I am a strong defensive-minded player, with size, speed, foot skills, and a strong leg for crosses from the corner and deep shots to the goal.
I would love to continue my soccer career during college and hope that the skills and abilities I have honed as a student athlete, combined with my strong academic record and SAT scores, will open exciting new doors for me. As I have watched teammates from my club and school teams graduate and move on to play collegiate soccer, I have begun envisioning myself doing the same. My goal is to attend an academically challenging college where I can major in Film Production or pursue a similar arts or media related degree. If I can do this AND play on a competitive collegiate soccer team where I can continue to contribute on and off the pitch, it would be a dream come true
Thank you for taking the time to look over my NCSA profile.
