Sarah Melen '19 Recruiting Profile

I started playing soccer at the age of 7 and shared time as a keeper and a forward.  Scoring goals was fun, but denying them was even better!  I've often wondered what the highlight of my sport is:   Personal Development?  Conquering Goals?   Competition?    Winning?   Winning State Cup,  AMAZING!  Not just for me, but for a team that came together 10 months prior.  We developed as a single unit with a single goal in mind.  Synergy is powerful!  So, was it the win or the accomplishment?  Both were amazing and you couldn't have one without the other.  In all that we do in life, we affect each other and outcomes with every interaction we have, I have to make each one count.  I want to go to a school where I can have a positive impact both on and off the field.  Taking part of an academic environment that challenges me and forces me to become something better is a must.  As a goalkeeper, I am always learning and pushing myself to the next level.  As a student, I dedicate myself to a level of learning that will help me to have an impact in this world even after soccer.  I want to make the places and people I interact with better for it and I want them to do the same for me.  Thus far, I have been very fortunate to be part of great schools and great teams.  It would be fantastic to keep that going in my college experiences.  If you want to learn more about me, please visit www.sarahmelen.soccer.  You can see what I'm up to, you can even check out my Tuba playing!
