Personal Statement
My name is Alicia Torrez. My Goal is to play Women's College Soccer and my Dream is to play on the Women's National Team. I am currently in ECNL to help me prepare for the speed of the game of College Soccer. I am a Team Captain and a Leader both on & off of the field. I lead by Example. I have Excellent Field Vision and I am a Solid Defender. I am Extremely Aggressive & have Quick Feet, I move with Agility to the soccer ball. I Attack the ball Aggressively & Defend Skillfully. My passes are Accurate and Clean.
Offensively, I have been put in as a Mid-Fielder & Forward but my Strength is in Defense. I am Fast and I have Great foot contact. My Right Foot is my Strength but I am more than capable & confident of using my Left when needed.
I am Well-Disciplined & I am Extremely Strategic at all times regardless of the position that I am playing. I am a Solid Team Player & Leader. I can Effectively handle Adversity & I am Extremely Coachable. I get along well with my coaches/teammates and I have an Awesome Attitude. I Love Soccer!!
I believe that you get what you want out of life if you help others get what they want out of life. This is my vision for future service to my community. I am so blessed and fortunate in my life to have others who have helped me become the person and the soccer player that I am today and I will always pay that forward. I will continue to help all of those in need especially the youth in my community.
As a student athlete, a healthy athletic performance is greatly needed. I achieve this by being very careful of what goes into my body as this greatly affects my performance both on and off the field. I understand that proper nutrition, health, and rest are needed for optimal performance. I also understand that in addition to being fit physically, I need to be fit mentally and emotionally to ensure focus and success on and off the field as well as with my studies. Being healthy in all aspects of my life will help me to ensure success in all I do.
My Academic Studies are just as Important to me as my Soccer. I give 110% in all that I do and I Never Give Up. I am Positive in all that I do and I am always Motivating and Helping others to be the Best that they can be - both Academically and with Athletics. It is all of these reasons why I would be an Asset and a Great Candidate for your team. My Leadership, Work Ethic and Passion sets me apart from other recruits. Thank You.
