Dear Coaches,
My name is Maegan Chavez and I am a senior at Chapin H.S. in El Paso, Texas. It has been my dream to play soccer at the collegiate level for as long as I can remember! I have worked very hard both on and off the field to prepare myself to be the best student athlete I can be. I would like to major in engineering and continue on afterwards to law school. Throughout high school I have always been in the top 2% and am currently #6 in my class. At my school, I am in an Engineering Magnet program and I have always taken rigorous classes (A.P. and Dual Credit). I've played soccer since I was four years old and can't imagine my life without soccer in it. I began playing club soccer when I turned 8, and currently play for Southwest NM Rush. I've been a part of the NM Olympic Development Program for the past four years and traveled to many different camps/clinics to further my skills. I've been a starter on my varsity high school team since my freshman year and been all-district each year, including newcomer of the year my first year. While my primary position is outside mid or outside defender, I bring experience in almost every position on the field. Wherever my team needs me I do my best to adjust and give 110%. I've also committed myself to being in the best possible shape I can be, and work with trainers several times a week who gear my workouts towards my sport. I feel very strongly that my passion, commitment, and ability would make me a good candidate for the next level in college soccer. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me.
