Personal Statement
Constantly winning tournaments before my high school career led me to create high standards for myself freshman year. I was used to coming home satisfied with the outcomes of the games, however that changed when wins slowly decreased as the season proceeded. I beat myself up for it, i found myself working one hundred times harder because I wasn't going to settle for third, let alone last place. This hardship changed me, and made me realize although losing hurts it teaches much more than winning does most of the time. It made me grow as an individual and set even higher standards for myself than I had begun with. I knew I was capable of much more than I was putting forward.
I am fortunate enough to have started playing the sport I love at the age of three, however I am even more fortunate to have had my dad as my coach the majority of my years. I learned not only the value of teamwork, but most importantly the value of friendship and constant sacrifice. While everyone was on vacation during the summers, I was out on the fields playing in scorching heat, praying the refs with give us a water break, but they never did. But don't get me wrong, i wouldn't have changed it for the world. I learned during those years to never give up, because once you do everyone else slowly does. You have to put others before yourself sometimes, but that's what teammates do. I am looking for a program that will benefit me athletically and most importantly academically. School always comes first is how i was raised. I believe I have the ability to play at the college level. I have the leadership, work-ethic, and character to create an impact on your program. I know i have more than what it takes to become a leader on your team.
