So hey I'm Brooklynn Lamb! I have played soccer for most of my life. After I played in a Recreation League for a while, I joined a club team when I was 10. I have played soccer with the same 12 girls from 10 years old all the way through senior year. While it was awesome having so many friends that had the same passion for soccer, it brought many difficulties. My freshman and sophomore years I sat the bench of varsity watching a few of my teammates get playing time. I really struggled with sitting the varsity bench, so I decided to make a change.
My sophomore year I tried out for the high school basketball team because my soccer coach encouraged my team to play different sports. I had never played basketball in my life. I had no idea what I was doing. But, by some miracle, I made the team. I had such a blast playing basketball and it really helped me with my soccer defense because they are pretty similar. After basketball season was over, my parents convinced me to compete in track. I went to all of the varsity meets as a sophomore. Track helped my speed and endurance immensely. I was now one of the fastest on the team.
When soccer season came back around, the difference was night and day. I went from a sophomore who barely saw the light of varsity to a starting junior who never came out of the game. All of my coaches commented on my growth. They were very impressed that I had such a drive to get better that I had played 3 sports that year. I am a very determined, competitive, and hard working athlete. I have continued to play all three sports through high school but soccer continues to be the sport I'm most passionate about.
I would like to continue my soccer career at the college level so let me know if you have any questions! Thank you:)
