Hi! I'm Delaney McHugh and am a junior at Cosby High School in Chesterfield, Virginia. I have been playing soccer for as long as I can remember and have been a serious goalkeeper now for 6 years. I play goalie for my club travel soccer team (Richmond Strikers), my high school varsity team, and am also a futsal goalkeeper for my club team.
I consider myself to be a highly motivated and determined individual on and off the field. I strive to do my best in my classes and while in goal for my team. I spend a lot of time training and working on skills needed to improve my play on the field. Communication with my teammates on the field is something I highly value as a goalkeeper. I consider my aggressiveness on the field, my communication, and my footwork to be some of my best strengths as a goalie. I highly value feedback from my teammates and coaches and utilize the feedback to make changes and examine my play on the field. My goal is to spend the next two seasons of play listening to my coaches' and teammates' comments, pushing myself in training, and trusting my instincts on the field. I am determined to find a school that will fit me academically as well as one where I can utilize my strengths as a goalkeeper at a collegiate level.
