Personal Statement
I am excited to be halfway through my senior year of high school. Although my junior year of soccer was sidelined by an ACL injury in the second game of the season, it gave the opportunity to find my passion. I am eager to draw from my experience with injury and recovery to help others as I work towards my Doctorate of Physical Therapy. I was selected to be a member of the National Honor Society at the end of my sophomore year. I have played soccer for over 10 years and had the pleasure of playing on several travel clubs. As an 8th grader I began playing on the junior varsity soccer team and volleyball team. In the 9th grade, I had the honor of playing on the varsity squad for soccer, volleyball and basketball. While I have played several positions on the team, I feel that I can best contribute as a center back. I am skilled at reading the offensive players and getting in position to either block the ball or receive it and send it back up field. Regardless of the outcome of the game I always give all that I can and stay positive. Even as a freshman player, I became a positive role model and one that the team could count on in the hardest of times.
I have two older brothers and a younger sister in my family. Everyone is active in various activities but we still find time to celebrate each other's wins and losses. My faith also plays an important part of who I am. I am an active member of YoungLife and enjoy the fellowship with students off the pitch and from other schools in my community.
I look forward to talking with you more about how I can become a successful member of your team.
