McKenzie Buell '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is McKenzie Buell and am a graduate of 2017. I currently play for Fuerza FC as a center forward, but I am also highly capable of playing an attacking midfield position as well. I currently live in Arlington, WA where I attend Arlington high school and have been playing varsity soccer ever since my freshman year. I feel as if I have many skills that can contribute well on to a team. Not only do I have a keen eye for the goal, but I can also distribute the ball well. I have a very technical skill set as well as great ball control which is helpful in correlation with my passion and competitiveness in this sport. Not only do I believe that I am a hard worker, but I also have great leadership skills as I have been the co-captain of my club team ever since u11, and I will also be the co-captain of my high school team come senior year. Throughout my high school experience as a junior, I have been named First Team All-League, Second Team All-Area, and Honorable Mentions All-State.

Besides my athletic accomplishment, I am also very dedicated to my education. Although I'm not entirely sure what I want to major in, I'm leaning towards math or sports medicine. Aside from accumulating a 3.9 grade point average, taking advanced classes, and maintaining a spot on the honor roll all throughout high school, I am very involved in my school. I am involved in National Honor Society and Link Crew (peer helper to freshman). Being an NHS member, I volunteer regularly and help my community as much as possible. One way I am able to give back, is by volunteering to be a coach for the u-10 and u-11 development teams for my club.

Although I am super interested in achieving a school with a great soccer fit for me, it is especially important that the school fits me academically as well. I prefer staying close to Washington, but I am willing to venture further as long as it is reasonable for me as a student, a player, and fits my financial budget.
