Hello!
My name is Katie Anthony and I am a 5’7” center back from Vancouver, Washington. I am currently a junior at Columbia River HS in Vancouver and play under an amazing HS Coach, Filomon Afenegus. Columbia River HS is known for having an extremely competitive soccer program. I was able to play half my freshman year on Varsity (six of the eleven starters went on to play collegiate soccer) and became a Varsity starter my sophomore year. Concluding my high school 2014 soccer season, I was named All League First Team, All Region First Team and All State First Team. My club team is FC Salmon Creek Nemesis '98. I recently switched to this team going into my junior year. As my club team is like comfort food, high school has been the spice that is waking my dreams and instilling in me what my parents have always said: "You can do this!" I am a hard worker, ready to play hard, play fair and make my dreams come true.
My strengths as a soccer player include my love and accuracy for headers; consistent 50 yard set kicks; accurate and strong kicks with both feet; ability to read the field and speed. On the field, I am a great team player and a solid communicator to my teammates. Off the field, I help anyway needed. Sportsmanship is very important to me.
My current GPA is 3.97, accumulative is 3.87.
As I begin this journey of collegiate soccer, I open myself up to endless opportunities. With each opportunity, I will continue to grow and learn. I would love to play soccer beyond high school with a great team and supportive coach(es). Soccer is what I do and being competitive within the sport is part of me.
