Alex Swarthout '14 Recruiting Profile

I have always found running to come easily for me. Growing up, I played soccer for years. I played the sweeper position, or last defender, and I loved the chase on the field. I always had an adreneline rush when it was solely up to me to catch the player with the ball and stop the breakaway to the goal. My freshman year in high school I began my running career, joining the cross country team. I came out of the gates a strong runner and found it very natural for me. I approach life with the same competitive edge that I approach sports and races with. I want to succeed in everything I do. Just like running, public speaking comes naturally for me. It is important to me to take my natural abilities and build on them to have a successful future. My dreams are to run for an excellent school and at the same time receive an excellent education.
