My name is Sophia Salvatore and I am a Junior at Sun Prairie High School in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old. I am currently the starting center defender and captain for my High School Varsity Soccer team. I was recognized as 2nd Team All-Conference during my Sophomore season (Honorable Mention All-Conference during my Freshman season) and my team finished the season 17-5-0 with 14 shutouts. We also won the Regional Championship for the first time in Sun Prairie Girls Soccer history. I'm also the starting center defender for my club soccer team that competes in the Midwest Regional League. For the last four years, I've helped my club team reach the Wisconsin State Cup. My overall goal is to attend a college that will offer me a great education and provide the opportunity to play soccer at the college level. I've not fully decided on what I would like to study in college but my interests are International Business, Marketing, and Spanish. I'm focused on school work and receiving straight-A's to give me the best opportunities for my college education. I'm presently taking AP Chemistry and AP Psychology and have been a member of my high school DECA program, a student club designed to prepare emerging leaders for careers in marketing, management, and entrepreneurship. In addition to soccer, I played volleyball for 5 years. Last year, I was a starter on the High School Junior Varsity team and pulled up to Varsity for the playoffs. I played as a 6-rotation player, primarily as a setter and right-side hitter. This year, however, I decided to not play volleyball. I still attend Athletic Republic (5+ years) to keep fit during the off-season.
