Personal Statement
Swimming has been such a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. Weekends full of long swim meets and binge naps. The sport has taught me so much about working hard and applying yourself, not only in swimming but also in school and family. This sport being individual, is just as much a team sport. Everyone is working with each other for one goal. Everyone is behind each other, screaming, yelling at every race. We want each other to succeed, to prosper as a athlete and a individual. As for myself in this sport, I've dedicated most of my life to training. Every summer I pack up and go to Portland to train with PAC and swim outdoor long coarse. This training really improved my endurance and stamina, as well as my technique. This high school season, I competed in the 500 and 200 Free and became region champion(1st) in the 500 and 2nd place in the 200. I then went on to compete at state and placed 6th in the 500 and 9th in the 200. I plan on getting 1st next year in the 500 and top 5 in the 200. Setting goals and achieving them little by little is what keeps the big picture in mind. I plan on taking my swimming to the next level with college swimming. I will apply myself to any challenge a coach throws at me and pursue it with a great attitude.
