Personal Statement
I've been swimming since I was 7 for a Parks and Rec club in the summer. I live in a small town in Alabama that doesn't have a wide range of sports or opportunities (Even though my town is named Opp and is short for "opportunity"). So I never had the chance to swim year round until 2012, when I was asked to join the Unified Troy Swim team. Although an hour away, I jumped at the chance to swim year round and compete at another level. It was the best decision I ever made! In the four short years I've been with them I've seen my times to continue to drop. Even with the two hour commute five days a week, I am able to maintain my 4.2 GPA and be active in my school where I am Class President and involved in numerous clubs. I love swimming and I don't want to leave it behind after high school. Swimming at the collegiate level is a dream of mine that I'm working very hard to achieve. I have a tremendous work ethic and if given the chance, would be an asset to any college team.
