I am actively looking for the best college fit for both academics and swimming starting the 2017/18 school year. I have been swimming competitively since I was 8 years old. As I finish the High School season as a senior I can do so knowing I put every effort possible to improve. This season I have dropped time in the 200 IM and 100 Back. I dropped from 2:23 to a 2:15 in the 200 IM and 1:06 to a 1:02 in the 100 back. I am feeling more fit than ever, and this is due in part to a weight training program and additional practices I began independently last summer.
I am a late bloomer in swimming and feel like I am just now gaining back control of my skills. When I was 12 years old I suffered an unfortunate accident when I broke both of my arms . It was during this time that I learned how resilient I can be swimming with gortex cast on both arms. In all, my right arm was surgically plated and casted for 14 weeks. This injury delayed my development as a swimmer by 2 years which happened to line up directly with a growth spurt. I am back on track and feeling stronger and leaner than ever. I would love to see where my developement can go because I know I can be a faster swimmer. I also hold myself to a high academic standard and am taking 3 Advanced Placement classes this semester. I would like to go to medical school and plan to major in Chemistry or Pre-med.
