Personal Statement
I started swimming when I was 8 years old and when I was 9 I turned to competitive swimming. I swim with a club called Oasis Aquatics, not the biggest club, but big enough for me. Big enough for me to call home. I am coached by Bill Huey which is now about to be my eighth year with him. He inspires me to keep going when things get rough. He helped me become the swimmer I am today and I couldn't be more thankful.
When I hit high school season, I had some of the best times in my whole swimming career. My freshman year I was put on varsity, won a league title in the 100 backstroke, went to CIF in the 50 free, and was also First Team All-Valley. I also won Most Valuable Varsity Swimmer and was the first freshman to win it in 6 years. That inspired me to work harder for my next 3 upcoming seasons. My sophomore year was also another strong, performing year with more CIF times, another year of varsity, and awarded Most Valuable Varsity Swimmer for the second year in a row. My junior year I was elected varsity captain, won a 200 freestyle relay title, and won Most Valuable Varsity Swimmer for the third year in a row. With all of those accomplishments I've made in 3 years, it does nothing but motivate me. Motivates me to push and see how far I can really make it. I am ready to hit my senior year with a bang.
At school I am a Link Crew Member. A program to help students make their high school days easier and stress free. I am also apart of the yearbook committee. My ultimate goal is to get a College Scholarship in Swimming. It always has been my goal since I stared swimming and I will not stop until my goal is met. What I've learned throughout my high school years is I get to say I've been through it all. I've been through the achievements, the disappointments, and know what it's like to be a part of a team. To me, that is what it takes to be at the next level and call myself a College Athlete.
