Personal Statement
Hello Coaches!
My name is Katelyn Hanf, but I go by Kate. I have been competitively involved in swimming since I was nine years old, but my mother taught me how to swim at the age of four. Besides the fact that I participate in the sport of swimming, I've been able to incorporate it into different aspects of my life. The past two summers I've had a job as a lifeguard. Since the age of 12 I have committed myself to giving swim lessons as well as helping out with the recreational swim team in my area.
Swimming at the collegiate level has always been a dream of mine. In college, I aspire to be on the swim team and obtain a bachelor's degree and eventually a master's degree in the major of my choice. I believe I make a good candidate for any team because I have an enthusiastic, energetic, and positive character. I am able to get along with anyone I meet, and cooperate with people in any situation. Swimming wise I am different from other candidates because I'm so versatile. I believe I can demonstrate strengths in all strokes and I wouldn't be opposed to swimming any event. I hope you see the possibility of me joining your team and school. I look forward to hearing from you and learning about your team and school.
