Hi! My name is Hunter Luna. Thank you for stopping by to review my profile. I am a Swimmer. I always have a swim bag & gear packed and ready to go in the back of the car. I can’t remember the last time I slept in on a Saturday – I’m either up early for practice or at a meet.
A little about me: I love to swim fast and compete. Nothing is worse than feeling like I didn’t “leave it all in the pool” at the end of a race. Nothing satisfies like a solid aquatic challenge mentally or physically or the adrenaline of a great race, or exhilarates like qualifying times. Swim team friends are some of the best family.
In 2010 I began swimming for a rec league team where I received the “Most Improved Swimmer” award and that’s all it took, I was hooked! I swim for my High School team and club team. I enjoy sprints the most. My best strokes/times are 100 fly, 50 free & 100 free. I’m working on improving back and 200 IM. I improved all these times in 2015/2016 and 2016/17 the improvement will continue because I’m not finished yet.
I spent my first 2 years in High School as a dual sport athlete playing water polo and swimming. While I was successful at both, during my junior year I’ve decided to dedicate my time to swimming and I couldn’t be happier.
I work hard outside the pool too. In the classroom I am committed to maintaining a high GPA which is necessary for acceptance into collegiate nursing programs. Over the past 3 years I’ve taught younger swimmers over the summer/fall months for my club team. Last year I worked for our City programs where I taught swim lessons and was a lifeguard for our community pool. I am active in several High School clubs and I volunteer consistently. I am most excited about my acceptance to volunteer for a major neighboring hospital where I will become a volunteer member of their Trauma team.
I am looking for the program with that allows me the opportunity to succeed academically and swim competitively. I am looking forward to continued growth and accomplishments in college. Thank you again for taking the time to read my profile!
