Personal Statement
My name is Kimberlee Giggey. I have always loved being in the pool since I was a baby. I have been swimming competitively since i was 9 years old on Vacaville Swim Club. At the age of 14 I moved to the Davis Aquadarts, Coached by Billy Doughty, to add more challenge into my swimming career. I am currently going to Vacaville High School with a 3.8 GPA and am taking two AP classes and two HP class this year. My academics are very important to me as well as my swimming career. I have been on the Vaca High Varsity Swim Team since my freshman year. In my freshman year I broke two Vaca High Swim records, the 50 free and the girls 4x100 freestyle relay. During Sections 2012 I placed first in the 100 freestyle and second in the 50 freestyle. In my sophomore year I broke four Vaca High Swim records, the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, girls 200 freestyle relay, and the 4x100 freestyle relay. During Sections 2013 I placed second in the 50 free and second in the 100 free. In the year of 2014 I got two best times in my 50 and 100 free at high school sections placing me third. My dream is to have the opportunity of swimming in college and competing in the Olympic Trials. I would love to go to a school where I can be involved with different activities. I am looking for a competitive college program with excellent coaching so I can train with and learn from the best. Even though I enjoy swimming my overall goal in academics is to pursue a degree in Sports Medicine, Rehabilitation, or Physical therapy.
